I have been in weekly conversation with my team at the ED Center on the topic of TESST Project goals, training, and related resources. Those conversations have been critical for the "infrastructure" of this initiative as we have been juggling availability of trainers, dates, subs, and budgets. We have almost reached one of the junctures on our timeline for training. We expected all TESST participants to be trained with My Access and Teen Biz tools by mid-October. We continue to support shared requirements for the use of these tools with your shared students.
In less than a week, we will assess the training commitment (ours and yours) and move to identifying the teams ready for the high access devices. We will be providing on-site support for the small computers with writing and Teen Biz activities. A rotation of interactive, site-support sessions will be posted here on the Ning.
Finally, integration of the curriculum when and where feasible is one of the two primary purposes for this whole project!! I know that most of you are the architects of curriculum junctures without having the resources to make it all happen according to our curriculum guides. From a language arts perspective, we are working to fix the resource gaps. This transitional year is critical. As a TESST Project participant, your input is expected to help all LA teachers of grade 9 move from the former ninth grade guide to the recommended, refreshed guide. More to come...
